DGP sanctions financial assistance/medical relief for SPOs | KNO

Srinagar, July 03 (KNO) : Continuing with the welfare measures, Police Headquarters has been continuously making efforts for assisting SPOs of J&K Police in their hard times. As a part of this welfare measure, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has granted financial assistance/medical relief of over rupees four lakh in favour of SPOs to compensate the expenses in connection with self-treatment or treatment of their dependents. The financial assistance/medical relief has been granted vide PHQ order number 2467 of 2019. Financial assistance/medical relief of rupees 4,29,988 has been sanctioned in favour of 26 SPOs posted at different districts viz Srinagar, Jammu, Baramulla, Budgam, Samba, Doda, Reasi, Kupwara, Ganderbal and Poonch out of Police Pariwar Fund and SPOs Contributory Fund. According to a statement issued to KNO, the assistance in favour of these SPOs have been sanctioned at different rates to pay the expenses in connection with self-treatment or treatment of their dependents. Police Headquarters is continuously focussing to enhance welfare measures for SPOs who comprise an important organ of the organisation. With an aim to improve the welfare of SPOs, various decisions were taken in the recently held 14th meeting of Central Police Welfare Committee. It was decided that all members of the J&K Police organisation will contribute towards Police Pariwar Fund to strengthen the welfare schemes for SPOs.(KNO)
