Srinagar July 03 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Wednesday expressed serious concern over the suspension of train service between Qazigund to Banihal. The party as per a statement issued to KNO emphasized the Govt to withdraw the order of suspension of vehicle traffic and train service forthwith to ensure that people as well as other tourists were not put hardships due to its decision. JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir while welcoming the yearly Amarnath Yatra has said that people of JK have always been enthusiastic to extend every help to people coming from across the country to perform yearly Amarnath Yatra, besides they whole-heartedly welcome the Yatris and they will continue to remain important part of it (Yatra).  “The decision to suspend the train service and vehicular traffic on NH was a bizarre move on the part of both State and Centre Govt, which should be revoked to ensure that people as well as other tourists coming to valley were not put to hardships, they too have the right to enjoy their trip to valley and other parts of the State,” Mir said. “I understand that the Govt was duty bound to ensure safety and security, besides facilitating smooth movement of Yatra, which it was doing, but the suspension of the vehicular movement and train service has not gone well, for the fact common people in JK believes that the decision of the Govt was not people friendly and that concern has to be addressed in the larger interests of people,” he said. He urged upon the Govt that apart from ensuring every facility to Yatris, the Govt should also address the concerns of the people, besides ensuring that economy of the State doesn’t suffer on account of restrictions on traffic on highway. Mir added and reiterated that Govt should withdraw suspension of both vehicular movement and train service forthwith, to ensure that common people or Tourists do not face inconvenience. (KNO)
