Srinagar, July 16 (KNO) : Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai Tuesday congratulated Kashmir Press Club over conducting successful elections and extended his best wishes to the newly elected Press Club members. Sehrai as per a statement issued to KNO hoped that the newly elected body will become a voice of Kashmiris and take up grim issues related to people and society, infact in every sphere. He also congratulated Shuja-ul-Haq for being elected as a president and all fresh and talented office bearers. “Kashmir is one of the most challenging places for journalists to report from. Despite mounting challenges, journalists must continue to keep the public informed.” “The press should always be antagonistic and aggressive and not kowtow to any dispensation or any party or forum. An independent press is one of the essential pillars of a true democracy and has a tremendous role in society,” he said.(KNO)
