Baramulla, July 18 (KNO) : A complete shutdown was observed in north Kashmir’s Baramulla town to mourn the death of a local militant in Sopore gunfight on Wednesday. All the shops and other business establishments remained closed in the town while as thin movement of private transport was witnessed on the roads in the town.
According to KNO Correspondent, people from the Baramulla and its neighbouring areas visited the residence of the slain militant to offer condolence to the bereaved family.
A 20-year-old Adnan Channa of Arampora Baramulla was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Gund Brath area of Sopore on Wednesday. Adnan went missing on April 23, he had joined Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit in the month of June this year.
Meanwhile, to prevent any law and order problem, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla Dr G.N Ittoo ordered closure of Degree Colleges in Baramulla town today as precautionary measure while as Sopore Colleges remained open today.(KNO)
