Over 4000 banned tablets seized, 2 drug peddlers arrested | KNO

Budgam, July 19 (KNO) : Police Friday claimed to have arrested two persons along with 4024 capsules of banned drug Mefar-PD ( Tramadol- Hydrochloride) and Spasmo- Proxyvon at Kawoosa Khalisa on Srinagar- Gulmarg road on Thursday evening. A police official told KNO that a naka by a police party of Police Post Narbal Budgam was laid at Kawoosa Khalisa on Srinagar-Gulmarg Road. During naka checking, a vehicle swift bearing registration number DL9CAM-7341 was stopped for checking. On enquiring, two persons namely Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, son of Ali Mohd Bhat of Ghalib Abad HMT Srinagar (Driver) and Mohd Issa Shera, son of Mohd Akbar Shera of Hanjiwera Pattan were found boarding the vehicle. From their possession, 4024 capsules of banned drug Mefar-PD (Tramadol- Hydrochloride) and Spasmo- Proxyvon were recovered, police said.  Officials told KNO that a case under FIR number 103/2019 under section 8/22 NDPS Act was registered against the drug peddlers in Police Station Magam Budgam and further investigation has been started. (KNO)
