Srinagar, July 20 (KNO) : The armies of India and Pakistan on Saturday exchanged gunfire in Balnoi Mendhar area of Poonch district in which a Naib Sarpanch sustained injuries. Sources told KNO that a Naib Sarpanch from Balnoi Panchayat identified as Zaffarullah Khan was injured during the exchange of gunfire. Khan was later rushed to the hospital for treatment. "At about 0900 hours, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation while resorting to firing by small arms and shelling with mortars along LoC in Mendhar sector. Army soldiers manning the LoC retaliated strongly,” officials said.(KNO)
