J&K Police arrests two Hizb militants in Srinagar ahead of Aug 15 | KNO

Srinagar, July 23 (KNO) : In a sting operation, two Hizbul Mujahideen militants were arrested by the police in Srinagar early on Tuesday morning, a top police officer revealed to KNO. He said that acting on a specific information about the presence of two militants in a Srinagar locality, a Naka was laid and the place was zeroed in after both were arrested in a smooth operation. “During the course of investigations, it was found that the duo belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen outfit and were planning a strike in Srinagar city ahead of August 15,” the officer revealed. He said the two arrested militants are being interrogated and they may disclose more about their modus operandi and plans they had in mind. Pertinently, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar Dr Haseeb Mugal is going to brief the media about the same development at 4 pm at police station Shergardi here.(KNO)
