Director I&C, MD SIDCO visit Khonmoh Industrial Estate fire incident site | KNO

Srinagar, July 24 (KNO) : Director Industries and Commerce, Mahmood Ahmad Shah along with Managing Director SIDCO, Ravinder Kumar today visited Industrial Estate Khonmoh and took stock of the situation at a manufacturing unit which was gutted in a fire incident. A corrugated cardboard boxes manufacturing unit M/s Valley Packings was completely gutted in a fire incident causing huge loss to the unitholder. The unit had a capacity to produce 72 lakh corrugated cardboard boxes per annum. During the visit, both the officers met with the local association of the unitholders. While informing them about the previous fire accidents that took place at the Estate, the unitholders requested the officers to establish a fire and emergency service station in the area. Both the dignitaries assured to take up the projected matter with the Fire and Emergency Services Department. The officers also observed the need to establish the fire stations with necessary manpower at all the Industrial Estates across the State.(KNO)
