Bijbehara encounter: Militant killed, operation on | KNO

Anantanag, July 30 (KNO) : A militant has been killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in Kathoo Wopzan area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday afternoon.  A senior police official confirmed to KNO that a militant has been killed in exchange of fire and operation is underway in the area.  A dead body along with weapon  has  been recovered, he said adding that identification of slain militant is being ascertained.  Earlier cordon and search operation was launched in the area by joint team of forces after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.  Two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.(KNO)
