Shopian gunfight: Militant killed, operation underway | KNO

Shopian, July 31 (KNO) : A militant was killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in Baderhama Zawoora area of South Kashmir's Shopian district. A senior police official confirmed to KNO that a militant has been killed in the initial exchange of fire and operation is underway in the area. A dead body along with weapon has been recovered from the gunfight site, he said, adding that identification of slain militant is being ascertained. Earlier, Cordon and Search Operation was launched in the area by joint team of forces including Army's 23 Paras, CRPF and SoG after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.(KNO)
