JAMMU & KASHMIR Bandipora Shuts to mourn militant killing | KNO All shops, business establishments closed Published 335 weeks ago on August 04, 2019 By KashmirNewsObserver Bandipora, August 04 (KNO) : A complete shutdown is being observed in Bandipora town of North Kashmir to mourn the killing of local militant, who was killed in an encounter with security forces in Malpora area of Sopore. Reports reaching KNO said that all shops and other commercial establishments are closed while public transport remained off the roads. People from the Bandipora town and its adjoining areas are visiting the house of the militant to offer condolences to the family. Two militants, of JeM outfit namely Umar Wani who was a local militant and his foreign associate were killed in a gun battle on Saturday. Police identified the slain Jaish Militant as Umar Wani of Kharpora area of Bandipora district and another one as Foreign Militant. Umar had joined militant ranks on 2 june 2019 and was active in Sopore town. On Saturday night, three rounds of funeral prayers were offered for Umar.
