Srinagar, Sep 02 (KNO) : The Jammu and Kashmir administration today said that it has fastened the process of relaxation and facilitation and that more than 90 per cent of areas in the Valley have no day-time restrictions as of now.
He said in total 152 incidents of stone pelting took place since August and 125 such incidents of the total figure took place alone in Srinagar while as rest of the nine districts of Kashmir witnessed two to three incidents on an average.
According to KNO Correspondent while, addressing the press conference at Media Facilitation Centre here, Principal Secretary to the J&K administration, Rohit Kansal said that the government has lifted the curbs from almost 92 police stations from the total 111 police and that stations in Kashmir. “So in Kashmir, 90 per cent of Kashmir have no day-time curbs as on date,” Kansal said.
He said that as part of the government’s relaxation and facilitation process, in Jammu and Ladakh regions, there are no curbs and that mobile and landline phones are fully functional. “So in entire Jammu and Kashmir, 93 per cent of Jammu and Kashmir have no prohibitory curbs,” Kansal said as per KNO.
He said that the administration set up 29 more exchanges and out of the total 95 exchanges, 76 are fully functional and 26000 landlines are functional in the State. “In the deputy commissioner Srinagar’s office, there is a fall of 85 per cent calls against 2500 a day in the past few weeks. This is only because of the restoration of landlines in Kashmir,” said Kansal, who was flanked by DIG Central Kashmir V K Birdhi, and Director Information Syed Sehrish Asgar.
As per KNO, Kansal said that traffic has started hitting the roads and private transport is plying normally while as public transport is also returning slowly. “The public traffic is plying on the highways and also the inter-district transport is plying,” he said.
He said there are threats in some areas by the anti-national elements, who enforce shutdown or either disallow the shopkeepers from opening their shops. “There were two incidents one at Parimpora where a shopkeeper was killed and another one where a local driver was killed by a stone. Both the incidents have been taken note of and the investigations are on,” Kansal said.
He said that the fruit is being transported in a very smooth manner and at least 300 more vehicles have been added to the fleet to lift fruit from Kashmir. He said there were 152 incidents of (stone pelting ) in total since August 5 and of this, 125 incidents took place in Srinagar alone. “Rest of nine districts had no major incident.
There were only two to three incidents in the districts,” Kansal said. He said that there was no dearth of life saving drugs and that all the major and district level hospitals were working normally. “Surgeries are taking place, out door patients are being treated properly and deliveries too are taking place. There is no dearth of essential commodities,” Kansal said, as per KNO correspondent.(KNO)
