Amid lockdown, illegal soil extraction goes unabated in Chadoora village | KNO

Budgam, Mar 24 (KNO): Amid panic among masses over the deadly Corona Virus, the illegal soil extraction at Central Kashmir's Chadoora area of Budgam district goes unabated with officials failing to take action against them.

According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) locals from Kuzwera Chadoora said that amid lockdown, some blue-eyed persons have started soil extraction from government land at various places from Khanmohalla Kuzwera. Umar Shafi, a local resident said "the illegal soil extractors have been using JCBs at night hours while almost 200 tippers are ferrying the illegally extracted soil to different areas of Budgam, Srinagar and Pulwama district.”

The locals demanded stern action against the offenders. Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Chadoora Prince Noor Ul Hamid told—KNO that they have also received a complaint about this, adding that “we will respond to it as soon as possible.” He said that those found involved will be dealt with strictly - (KNO)
