Covid-19:- Four more persons test positive in Kashmir, toll mounts to 11 in J&K 5124 Persons under observation in J&K, 23 patients with symptoms admitted in SKIMS, says nodal officer Jahangeer Ganaie Srinagar, Mar 25 (KNO): A day after three persons including a preacher of Tableegi Jamaat tested positive for Covid-19 in J&K, four more persons were tested positive for deadly Covid-19 in Kashmir on Wednesday and all of them belong to Bandipora district of north Kashmir. "4 more persons, all from Bandipora, tested positive today. Preliminary findings suggest they were close contacts of Srinagar patient who tested positive yesterday. All 5 reported to have participated together in religious event" Tweets Rohit kansal spokesman of J&K government. Officials of health department told wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that these four persons had met with Tableegi Jamaat preacher few days before as they are also affiliated with Tableegi Jamaat. After Tableegi Jamaat preacher was asked about with whom he had met after he reached valley from Delhi, he also revealed names of these four persons, they said. “All four shifted to a hospital where they were kept in quarantine and their samples were taken and sent for reports and their reports came positive today,” officials said. Nodal officer for Coronavirus at SKIMS, Soura, Dr G H Yatoo told KNO that four persons were tested positive and they are undergoing at SKIMS. “Five more patients were received by the Institute with symptoms of Coronavirus and their samples have been taken but reports are yet to come,” he said. Dr Naveed Ahmad Shah Head of department chest disease hospital Srinagar said chest disease hospital received today 23 patients with symptoms of Coronavirus. Their samples were taken and have been sent for tests but reports are yet come, he added Pertinently with the four more fresh cases, the total cases in Kashmir has reached to eight besides that there are 3 positive cases in Jammu division which takes total tally of positive cases of coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir to 11. As per the daily information bulletin 5124 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 3061 persons have kept under home quarantine. According to the bulletin on novel coronavirus, 80 persons have kept under hospital quarantine while as 506 persons have completed surveillance period. 1477 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far 326 number of samples have been collected for test of covid-19. Out of 326, 294 samples have been tested negative while as 11 have been tested positive among them one has recovered besides that reports of 21 samples are yet to come—(KNO)
