Srinagar, Apr 04 (KNO): Private Diagnostic Centers Association president Umar Dhar on Saturday said that private clinics and testing labs are offering huge discounts for tests of the patients with serious ailments that include Cancer patients and pregnant ladies. He also said that many NGOs are playing a crucial role at this time of crisis by offering free personal protective equipment, masks and also distributing free medicines to the needy and poor patients. Talking to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Umar said that private clinics are offering huge discounts to the patients with serious ailments, like those in need of Kidney Functioning Test (KFT), Thyroid, USG for pregnant ladies and Cancer patients and also for the Count of Blood Cells (CBC), tests in the challenging times of Covid-19. “We care for our patients who are in need of going through important examinations. So they should avail these discounts and get their tests done at private clinics after following proper protocol which includes maintaining social distancing etc,” Umar said. He also dozens of NGOs are on ground zero that include Darul Khair, Athrout, Towheet Forum, Muslim Baitul Maal, Darul Ata, Masakeen Charitable Turst, Aash, Al-Moomin Charitable Trust etc, who are playing a great role by serving the humanity in this challenging hour. “These NGOs are providing free food, essentials, medicines to poor and even free PPE kits, and masks to doctors and para medics, which deserves all applauds,” Umar said—(KNO)
