Jammu, Apr 06 (KNO): Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two persons and seized 10 grams heroin like substance and one revolver from their possession in Jammu region of the Union Territory. In a statement issued to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), police said that in stringent action against narco smuggling, a team of Police Station Bakshi Nagar led by Inspector Karan Chalotra, SHO PS Bakshi Nagar apprehended two narco smugglers and seized 10 grams heroin like substance and one revolver in their illegal possession. Police said that a case under FIR number 62/2020 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at P/S Bakshi Nagar on April 04, 2020 in which three accused were arrested. “During investigation, the arrested accused revealed that main supplier of drugs and Kingpin of drug mafia namely Vishal Sharma @ Vishu, son of Late Ram Prakash of 136/01, Shakti Nagar, Jammu presently hiding himself in Punjab is planning to enter into Jammu with the help of inter-State drug peddler, Hira Singh, son of Pritam Singh of H. No. 10166, Ranjodh Park, Habowal Ludhiana at present H. No. 1194, Sant Vihar, Ludhiana, Punjab in guise of a patient by using Toyota Innova bearing PB11AN-8447 as Ambulance,” police said. On their disclosure, a special team headed by Inspector Karan Chalotra, SHO P/S Bakshi Nagar was constituted to apprehend the Kingpin of drug mafia. “With the strenuous efforts, Police team apprehended the above said accused during naka checking at Pawan Ice Cream Chowk on 05-04-2020. On search, 10 Gms. Heroin like substance, one revolver and one knife were recovered from their illegal possession and Innova bearing registration number PB11AN-8447 was also seized,” police said—(KNO)
