Srinagar, Apr 09 (KNO): Covid-19, a deadly Pandemic continues to widen its net as 26 persons tested positive for the virus in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Thursday taking toll of total positive cases in the Union Territory 184. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), government spokesman, Rohit Kansal informed that 24 more persons have been tested positive in Kashmir while as three more in Jammu, taking the total toll of positive cases across Valley to 152. The government spokesman also informed that the total number of positive cases across Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has mounted 184, saying that 27 who have been tested positive today are all contacts of those found positive already. "#COVID19 #JammuAndKashmir 24 more positive in Kashmir. Total 184. 32 in Jammu, 152 in Kashmir. All are contacts. A result of aggressive testing," Kansal tweeted Officials said that among the today's positive cases 8 are from Tangmarg while as 12 are from Bandipora including 11 of a single family whose one family member has already died due to covid-19 on April 07. Officials said at SKIMS said that so for total number of 340 suspected Coranavirus patients have been treated at SKIMS and there are 30 positive patients under observation at SKIMS. They said that two patients are under observation whose samples have been taken and their reports are yet to come besides that so far 304 suspected patients of covid-19 have been discharged. "At SKIMS lab, so far 989 samples have been tested so far, out of 989, the number of samples tested negative stands at 881 and number of positive teste stands at 86 including 21 which were tested positive today and reports of 19 samples is yet to come " They said. Nodal Officer for Covid-19 at SKIMS Dr G H Yatoo said that among the reports received today 21 were positive while as reports of around 20 patients are yet to come. Dr Naveed Shah, Head of department at CD hospital told KNO that one more positive patient has been shifted to CD hospital from SMHS taking toll of total positive patients at CD hospital to 23. He said repeated tests of around one dozen positive patients have come negative who will be discharged after their quarantine period will be over. Deputy Medical Superintendent at JLNM hospital Rainawari Dr Tabasum told KNO that 10 more positive patients were shifted to JLNM hospital last night taking toll of positive patients at JLNM hospital to 22. Dr Jameel Ahmad Mir Medical superintendent District Hospital Pulwama told KNO that 15 more samples were taken today and have been sent for tests besides that 9 positive patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital who all are well and are recovering. As per the daily information bulletin 43,798 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 8,157 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 174 persons are in hospital isolation while as 478 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 9,010 persons have completed surveillance period and 25,975 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far 2,649 number of samples have been collected for test of covid-19. Out of 2,649, the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,465 while as 184 have been tested positive with six, three each from Kashmir and Jammu division have recovered and four patients including three from Kashmir and one from Jammu have died—(KNO)
