Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that locals informed police about a butcher who was selling Rancid meat in Heewan village Station House Officer (SHO) Sheeri told KNO "we got a call from locals and police party in the jurisdiction rushed to the spot and arested a butcher and destroyed Rancid meat." Police officials identified butcher as Muhammad Hussain Ganie, son of Abdul Samad Ganie of Fathegrah Sheeri Baramulla.
