Girl sets herself ablaze in Bandipora, dies | KNO

Srinagar, May 29 (KNO): An 18-year-old girl from Cheva area of north Kashmir's Bandipora has set herself ablaze and later succumbed to burn injuries. Official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that an 18-year-old girl from Cheva area of Bandipora has set herself ablaze with kerosene oil on Wednesday afternoon. Following the incident, she was immediately rushed to Srinagar’s SMHS Hospital. Sources at SMHS hospital told KNO that the girl had 96 per cent burn injury and she later succumbed on Thursday afternoon. A police officer in Ajas confirmed the incident and said that they have registered a case under FIR number 83/2020 under section 309 IPC at Sumbal Police Station and the investigation into the matter has been started—(KNO)
