COVID-19: 10 Pregnant ladies among 177 test positive in J&K, tally rises to 2341 | KNO

‘Over 1,60,000 samples tested so far’

Srinagar, May 30 (KNO): The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir crossed 2300 mark on Saturday as 177 fresh positive cases were reported on Saturday including ten pregnant ladies. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reveals that among new 177 cases that were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday 19 were tested positive at SKIMS, 48 at CD hospital,10 at JVC Bemina, 30 at Army's command hospital Srinagar and rest at other private labs. Among 177 new cases, 125 belong to Kashmir division while as 52 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 1853 including 791 recoveries and 25 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 368 including 117 recoveries and 3 deaths. They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 405 including 1037 from Kashmir division and 368 from Jammu division. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 18 from Anantnag, 04 from Kulgam, 26 from Srinagar, 10 from Budgam 3 from Kupwara, 16 from Shopian, 40 from Baramulla, 1 each from Bandipora and Ganderbal and 5 from Pulwama in Kashmir division while as 52 from Jammu include 2 from Jammu, 14 from Ramban, 6 from Kuthua, 13 from Udhampur, 7 from Samba district, 6 from Rajouri, 3 from Doda and one from Reasi ," officials disclosed. Officials from SKIMS said that out of 1098 samples tested at SKIMS, 19 were found positive. They said that among 19 cases, 12 are from Srinagar, four from Kulgam, 2 from Kupwara and one from Baramulla. Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for Covid-19 at GMC Srinagar said that out of 671 samples tested at CD hospital Lab, 48 were found positive besides that 150 samples are under-process. Out of 48 cases, 40 are from Baramulla, 7 from Anantnag and one from Srinagar, he said adding that positive case from Srinagar is a traveler. Cases include 10 pregnant ladies, 5 each from Baramulla and Anantnag, he said adding that one positive case is from DPL Baramulla besides that out of 48 cases, 40 were already in quarantine centres. Officials from Baramulla said that among 40 cases, 10 are from Watergam, 09 from Khawaja Bagh, 02 each from Dangiwacha and Sopore , 07 from Gantmulla and 1 each from Duroo, Rafiabad, Marazgund, Baramulla, Tangmarg, safapora, Yemberzalwari, Reshiepora and Chechlora. Officials from Anantnag said that 3 pregnant ladies are from Siligam and each from Laripora Pahalgam and Ashmuqam besides 29 year old female from Tulhard and 30 year old male from Ashmuqam. Officials from JVC Bemina said that 500 samples tested at the hospital ten were found positive who all belong to Budgam including 08 from police station Magam and 02 from Budgam. They further added that 14 more patients were discharged from the hospital after their recovery. So far 203 covid-19 positive patients have been discharged from the hospital after their recovery, they said adding that 41 patients are still under treatment at the hospital. They said that among the positive patients, a large number of pregnant women have been managed and till date 12 deliveries including 05 major surgeries have been conducted at the hospital. Lt Col Inam Danish Khan at Army's Command Hospital Udhampur told KNO that out of 1377 pooled and 127 un-pooled samples tested at the hospital, 30 were found positive. Among 30 cases, 11 are from Udhampur, 16 from Ramban, 2 from Doda and 1 from Reasi, he said As per officials figures 314 positive cases including five deaths and 122 recoveries are from Anantnag, 277 including four deaths and 23 recoveries are from Kulgam, 272 including seven deaths and 131 recoveries are from Srinagar, 258 including 74 recoveries are from Kupwara, 217 including 102 recoveries and five deaths are from Baramulla, 146 including 134 recoveries and one death is from Bandipora, 168 including 108 recoveries and one death from Shopian, 99 including 61 recoveries and one deaths is from Budgam, 32 including 24 recoveries are from Ganderbal and 70 including 12 recoveries are from Pulwama. In Jammu division, 130 including 37 recoveries and two deaths are from Jammu district, 89 including 15 recoveries are from Ramban, 61 including 19 recoveries are from Kathua, 65 including 25 recoveries and one death is from Udhampur, 41 including 11 recoveries from Samba, 38 are from Poonch, 27 including 05 recoveries are from Rajouri, 14 including 03 recoveries area from Reasi, 08 including 01 recovery is from Kishtwar, 05 including 01 recovery is from Doda. As per the daily information bulletin 165,225 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 36,538 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1405 persons are in hospital isolation while as 56 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 83,684 persons have completed surveillance period and 43,514 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 164, 581 samples are available. Out of 164, 581 the number of samples tested negative stands at 162,240 while as 2341 have been tested positive, among them 1405 are active and 908 persons have recovered and 28 persons have died—(KNO)
