Baramulla, June 06 (KNO): Panic has gripped Kunzer area in north Kashmir's Baramulla district after a COVID suspect patient visited Public Health Centre (PHC), who was immediately moved to Srinagar.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a COVID suspect lady patient arrived at PHC Kunzer with COVID-19 related symptoms.
The lady was immediately shifted to Srinagar hospital under proper protocol, they said, adding that the patient had breathing problems and high fever. "Oxygen support was also given to the patient by medical team at PHC Kunzer," they added.
Meanwhile, locals from Kunzer said that panic has gripped the entire locality and the patients who reached the health centre were not allowed to enter within for medical check-ups.
They said over 100 people are waiting outside and are in extreme fear. Block Medical Officer (BMO), Dr Ruqaya told KNO that as per protocol, the patient was shifted to Srinagar.
She said the medical team there had worn protective gears, adding that there is nothing to worry about, but still if the patient is tested positive, they will be sent put quarantine.
Dr. Ruqaya also said the hospital building as per the mandatory protocol was disinfected to ensure safety of people. "We have now allowed patients to enter hospital for treatment," she said—(KNO)
