IGP Kashmir promotes 2472 police personnel | KNO

A Departmental Promotion Committee met under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Shri Munir Ahmad Khan, with the other members being Shri Gh. Hassan Bhat DIG of Police, CKR Srinagar, Shri Muzafar Ahmad Shah, SO to IGP Kashmir Zone, Shri Dawood Ayoub ASP Srinagar, Shri Nasir Murtaza, DDP ZPHQ, Shri Mohammad Ashraf, Accounts Officer ZPHQ and Shri Altaf Hussain, SO Establishment ZPHQ Kashmir for promotion of Constables to the rank of SG.

Constables of Executive Wing of J&K Police having lien and seniority with Kashmir Zone.

        During this process, a total of 2472 constables have been formally promoted t the rank of Selection Grade Constables after having been brought on promotion list A-I & A-II. It may be mentioned that the State Government vide Home Department order No. 183-F of 2017 dated 12.06.2017 had recently raised the percentage of Selection Grade Constables from existing 25% to 50% of the total sanctioned strength of the constabulary in J&K Police and the DPC was conducted to fill up the vacancies that accrued as a result of this Government order.

Shri Munir Ahmad Khan-IPS IGP Kashmir in his message to the promoted officials and to their families has felicitated them and expressed hope that the promotion will act as a moral booster which will enable the officials to work with zeal and zest.
