Reviews pace of ongoing development works in Darhal

Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Information Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today directed the officers of PWD (R&B) to expedite construction of Koteranka-Khawas road and Administrative Block of Medical College at Rajouri.

The Minister issued these instructions while addressing a meeting of PWD (R&B) officers convened to review the pace of development works being executed by the department in Darhal.

In the meeting, the Minister said the department should adopt serious and dedicated approach towards these two prestigious projects and complete them within the fixed timeline. He directed for fixing a schedule for concerned AEE to visit the Koteranka-Khawas road site and submit real-time update to his office daily.

He further directed for development of wayside amenities on the road including beautification of road sides, developing green strip and sitting spaces.   

The Minister directed the officers to expedite the works on roads including Budhal to Shopian, Kewal Morh to Targain, Morari Morh to Bagyal Kot, Rajouri to Darhal, Choudhary Narm to Dodaj and Thuddi to Kot Dhara. He asked them to construct the missing link on Dallhori to Kanthol, Bai to Nambal, Kanthol to Khairian and Gadyog to Duggal Gala roads, besides constructing approach road to Udhyan bridge and opening blockage of Tredu Khwas road.

The Minister directed the Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) to conduct an inspection visit of the various development projects in Rajouri and submit him the detailed report soon.

Stressing that the road network brings vast avenues of development with it, the Minister said, “All the existing roads in Darhal should be macadamized with quality material so that the people can take the benefit of the assets developed by the State in Rajouri.”

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer PWD (R&B), Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B), Rajouri and other officers of the department.
