The statement of Indian Home Minister is entirely sham, fraud and deceit and an attempt to hoodwink international community from the ground realities of Kashmir’, Jama’at said.

Jama’at said, ‘Those who raised concerns over the conspiratorial designs hatched by New-Delhi regarding Article 35-A have been virtually harassed, intimidated and jailed in police lock-ups in order to put a stop on the voices who create obstacles in furthering the agenda of New-Delhi’.

Had New-Delhi respected the sentiment of people of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, situation would have been entirely different? Neither the blood of innocents would have been floated nor hundreds of graveyards would have been established?

Moreover Jama’at condemns the continuous arrest of its spokesperson and terms it blatant violation of human rights.

Jama’at said, police today produced Advocate Zahid Ali (Spokesperson) and Farooq Ahmad Sheikh (Amir Tehsil Kulgam) in the court of District Judge Kulgam wherein court sent the duo into judicial custody till 21st of September, 2017. Pertinently both the leader have been detained by Kulgam police on August 4 and later on sent them to District Jail Mattan, Islamabad.

‘The detenues are facing extreme persecution both by police and civil administration. One hand judiciary is playing a prejudicial role in prolonging the cases by giving unnecessary time to public prosecutors in filling counter arguments during the course of trial and on other hand if fortunately lodged people get a sigh of relief from courts, police tramples the court orders under their feet and thus subjugate and harass Kashmiris on political vengeance’, Jama’at said.

Jama’at expressed serious concern over the detention of its leaders and terms it blatant violation of human rights. Jama’at appeals international community including human rights groups to take strong note of the volatile situation being faced by hapless, innocent and unarmed Kashmiris at the hands of government forces and appeals them to come fore for the resolution of Kashmir dispute as per the wishes and aspirations of concerned people without any further delay.
