A meeting of newly elected PCC delegates from Kashmir province was held at Srinagar today under the chairmanship of Pradesh Returning Officer (PRO) Shri Hussain Dalwai MP (Rajya Sabha). In which J& K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Mr. G.A. Mir was present. APROs Sh. Moqsood Mirza, Sh. Deepak Rathode and all senior functionaries, MLAs/ MLCs and other PCC delegates from all districts and parts of Kashmir province.
Addressing the meeting Mr. G.A. Mir who requested the PRO to Preside over the meeting briefed him (PRO) about the overall Membership Drive done in Kashmir Province. He said despite the difficult situation in the province, Congress Cadres remained steadfast in their endeavor to complete the drive successfully, as a result 9.00 lack Primary Members were enrolled.
He said that in March 2015 Congress High Command decided to appoint him as PCC President when the rank and file of the Party was in confusion due to the Elections results which were unfavorable to Congress Party and I was entrusted the job to rejuvenate the party from grass roots level, but I am thankful to Congress high especially Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for reposing faith in me.
He said his (Mir’s ) aim is to see Congress Party as a strongest force, for the fact, it is the Congress Party alone which is capable of defeating communal and fascist forces hell bent upon harming the secular fabric of the Country, I must tell you that Congress is only unifying forces in the country, which can save the Country from disintegration.
Referring to the Membership Drive in the State, PCC President expressed satisfaction over the Drive and congratulated the Delegates for the successful Drive, he hoped that Congress Cadres would remain dedicated to the cause of strengthen the Party and serving the people to the best of their ability, as it (Congress) party is an instrument of service to the people.
The resolution presented in the meeting read “A meeting of newly elected PCC delegates from Kashmir held here today under the chairmanship of Shri Hussain Dalwai, Pradesh Returning Officer, unanimously authorize Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi to finalize the list of AICC Members and President of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee”.
The resolution was whole heartedly supported and unanimously adopted. The resolution was moved by senior leader and Former PCC President Peerzada Mohd. Sayeed and seconded by Senior Leader and Former Minister Taj Mohi U Din, Gulam Nabi Monga MLC, MLA Haji Ab. Rashid Dar, Mohd Anwar Bhat Vice Presidents Usman Majeed MLA, Mohd Muzaffar Parray MLC, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani, MLA Mohd Amin Bhat, Spokesperson Farooq Andrabi, Amreen Badre, Surinder Singh Channi, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Khemlata Wakhloo, Shamema Iqbal, Shameema Raina, Prof. Prakash Sunvane, Deepak Rathore Zahid Hussain Jan, Haji Farooq Mir, Anayatullah Rather, Ab. Gani Khan, Ab. Qayoom Shah, Nissar Ahmad Mundoo, Surjeet Singh Bakshi, Amir Rasool, and others.
Former Dy. Chief Minister Tara Chand, MLC Tahkur Balbir Singh, G. N. Mir Lasjan, IYC Secretary Abid Kashmiri, Aftab Ahmad Beigh, Imityz Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Maroof Ahmad Wani and other senior leaders were also present in the meeting.
Praising Smt. Sonia Gandhi for his dynamism and vision, G.A. Mir expressed said that all Congress men have full faith and great love and respect for her saying that she always took the right decision in the interest of Congress and Congress and lauded the leadership qualities and selfless services rendered by her to the
Mir also lauded the role and leadership qualities of Rahul Gandhi, who is committed to the cause of serving people and is fighting the forces of hatred heel bent upon to divide the people and country to serve their dirty political ends. Rahul Ji is fighting the fascist and communal forces and he (Rahul) should take over the leadership of the Party which is the need of the time. All the Congress men in every nook and corner of the country are behind his leadership and have great desire that he should lead party and play a vital role in the overall development of the country and people as well.
The speakers simultaneously lauded the role and leadership of Rahul Gandhi and urged that Rahul Gandhi should lead in the interest of the Country and the Party.
Shri Hussain Dalwai expressed happiness that the delegates expressed full faith in the leadership of Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and said that the days of BJP Govt. is over and now the people feel cheated and have started realizing the falsehood and hollow slogans of Modi Govt. and want that Congress to lead the campaign to expose the Modi Govt. he expressed confidence that Congress Party will come upto the expectations of the people.
