Advisory for general public by Traffic Police City Srinagar | KNO

To avoid punitive action under law for obstructive/ wrong parking particularly in City center, visitors/shopkeepers etc are advised to park their vehicles only at the designated parking places, otherwise the vehicles found wrongly parked shall be towed/ seized in compliance to the directions of Hon’ble Court in OWP-PIL 458/2003 and shall be released by Hon’ble Court.

The places designated for parking the vehicles are as;

Sheikh Bagh opposite Ganta Ghar towards river side, Residency road near SBI, Old State Motor Garage near press enclave, Polo View behind garbage shed from garbage dump side, Near Khalisa School opposite V Mart Magarmal Bagh, Opposite Mughal Darbar restaurant, Polo View North from MA road opposite Banquet Hall and Mechanized car parking KMD Adda Lal Chowk.

        In the interest and convenience of general public, visitors, shopkeepers, business establishment owners, visiting or working in city center are advised to adhere that they should meticulously plan their visit to city center and park vehicles at the designated places before venturing for shopping or other business transactions. The visitors particularly from rural areas are advised to carefully choose the parking places to avoid inconvenience.

        They were also advised to make it a habit to stroll shorter distances from designated parking places instead of wrongly parking their vehicles infront of shopping lines and not to infringe on the rights of others particularly pedestrians and passerby.

        Visit purposely without loitering and switch over to car-pooling to help decongest city. Help to pave way to hospital referrals.
