9 gamblers arrested in Srinagar : Police | KNO

Srinagar police arrested nine gamblers and seized stake money of Rs 5,820 from the gambling spot.

Acting on a tip off, Police party of Police Station Soura led by SHO Shri Mohammad Latief under the supervision of SDPO Hazratbal raided a gambling site at Ellahi Bagh Rangpora and arrested nine gamblers identified as Ab Hamid Dar son of Haji Gh Rasool Dar resident of Ellahibagh 90 Feet Road, Mukhtiyar Ahmad Shiekh son of Ab Ahad Wani resident of Beerwah presently residing at Ahmad Nagar Chekh, Shabir Ahmad Kawa son of Ab Samad Kawa resident of Rangpora Near Green Valley School, Mustafa Ashraf son of Mohd Ashraf Najar resident of Ellahi Bagh, Shakeel Ahmad Dar son of Gh Mohammad Dar resident of Buchpora Umerhair, Mohammad Ashraf Mir son of Gh Mohammad resident of Ellahi Bagh, Tariq Ahmad Ganie son of Nazir Ahmad Ganie resident of Ellahi Bagh, Ilyas Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Iqbal Colony and Habibullah Dar son of Ab Sattar Dar resident of Ellahi Bagh. Stake money of Rs 5,820 and gambling cards were seized from the gambling site. A case FIR number 84/2017 under section 13 Gambling Act was registered and investigation was taken up.
