Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meet held at Police Station Kulgam | KNO

A PCPG meeting was held at Police Station Kulgam under the supervision of SP Kulgam Shri Shridhar Patil. Large number of people from Kulgam town and peripheral areas participated in this meeting.

At the outset of the meeting the participants were warmly welcomed and appreciated by SHO Kulgam for sparing their valuable time to attend the meeting. Many issues of public welfare were deliberated upon during the meeting including 1. Braid Chopping. 2. Safety of girl students. 3. Drug menace 4. Behavioral Change in police . While responding to the issues SP Kulgam informed people that the matter is being investigated scientifically and strict action will be taken against the individuals whosoever will be found involved and assured them that Police is always with people, no stone will be left unturned to solve the cases. In this regard a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted in the district for speedy and efficient investigation. He emphasized upon the incidents of braid chopping and asserted that SIT is investigating each and every incident in satisfactory manner. People are also requested to cooperate with police in order to unearth the truth behind such incidents and they should not pay any heed towards the rumors spread by anti social elements. Investigation of braid chopping cases are in progress. Every possible effort is being made in shape of human as well as technical resources to solve the cases on merits. SP Kulgam also requested the participants that they should inform police in case they find any suspicious movement of any person and should refrain from taking law and order in their hands. Besides, SP Kulgam advised parents through the medium of this meeting to counsel their children to ensure sense of security amongst our next generation. The participants were assured that a women flying squad will be constituted immediately in the district for safety and security of girl students. The squad shall remain present at strategic areas from 9 to 11 am at morning and 3 to 4 pm in the evening. District Police Kulgam have always been tough against the drug menace and have nabbed many drug paddlers at many occasions and did not allow the menace to spread. Besides a counseling cell for youth has been established to aware them regarding bad consequences of drug addiction. The Meeting concluded with vote of thanks.
