7 injured in Mendhar mishap | KNO

Srinagar, May 29(KNO) : At least seven persons were injured after a vehicle they were traveling in skidded off the road and rolled down into 100 metre deep gorge. The Maruti Van bearing registration number JK02AW-8018 skidded off the road when it was on way from Mendhar towards Upper Kotia. "The incident took place at lower kotian, resulting in injuries to seven people," a police official told KNO. Police officials identified the injured as Mohd Kafeel, son of Sayeed Muhammad, Zulifkar Ahmed, son of Dilpazir, Ibrar Ahmed, son of Dilpazeer, Muhammad Ishtiaq, son of Muhammad Basharat, Muhammad Zafer, son of Mohd Azeem, all the residents of Soyian Kotian. Other injured were identified as Farzana Koser, wife of Istkhar Ahmed of Sandiuot Balakote and Rabina Kouser, daughter of Mohd Shafi of Ari. "All the injured were shifted to SDH Mendhar for treatment," the police official told KNO. He said the driver identified as Muhammad Aftab, son of Maskeen Hussion has fled from the spot after the incident took place. Police station Mendhar has started the investigation in this regard," officials told KNO. (KNO)
