After 45 days, coronavirus makes a comeback in Bandipora as 5 new cases test positive | KNO

Active cases stands at 11, 131 discharged after recovery so far

Bandipora, May 26 (KNO): After being continuously in the recovery mode for more than a 45 days now, Bandipora district recorded five fresh cases on Tuesday taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 144. An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that one of fresh cases was a 30 –year-old man, a resident of Tulail Gurez, currently undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Bandipora while the other four are from Sumbal area. “They were already quarantined at different places of the district and have been now taken to hospital, for treatment,” he said. The official said that total number of cases in the district now stand at 144, of which 11 are active while 131 patients have recovered so far. A patient has also died due to Covid-19 in Gund-Jahengeer village of Hajin,” he said. However, he said, that the Covid-19 patients in Bandipora are recovering very well. "We have not suffered any major casualties here due to Covid-19. We are thankful to Almighty and also to our administration for saving us from this disease," he added. “People still need to be careful about this disease, because it is a deadly disease, it will do great harm to human beings.” Earlier, 120 patients had recovered before May 15 after which the district was briefly categorised as an orange zone—(KNO)
