Srinagar, July 10 (KNO): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday slammed the Jammu and Kashmir administration over its utterly non-serious approach and mismanagement in containing the spread of the deadly COVID 19. “At a time when positive cases are witnessing a dreadful spike and government has failed to flatten the curve in Jammu and Kashmir, administration is indulging in experimentation that has only created confusion among the masses,” PDP spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “It is worrisome to see the huge spike in the numbers of Covid 19 positive cases and the deadly disease claiming more lives each passing day. The health infrastructure is coming under steady pressure” the spokesperson said. While the authorities should have come up with a cogent response to the evolving situation with clarity of thought and action, they have been giving out mixed signals thereby confusing people. This has created scope for misgivings forcing some to think that it is deliberate, though our party doesn’t think so. But this non-serious attitude & experimentation has created unprecedented scare among the people, the spokesman added. “With the outbreak of COVID 19, the people in general showed exemplary cooperation and strictly followed the advice to avoid any kind of gathering including those in the mosques but the administration failed miserably to utilize the gains thereof bringing us to this situation”, the spokesman said. With the gross mismanagement, the message for the public is loud and clear, they are on their and will have to fend for themselves. We request everyone to exercise utmost caution and follow the advice of doctors and experts, the spokesman added—(KNO)
