Srinagar, September 4 (KNO) : Condemning the widespread killing spree and extensive CASO’s in almost all the villages and towns of South Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his deep concern about the military concentration around Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts of South Kashmir.

Paying rich tributes to Fayaz Ahmad Wani of Chewah Kalan Pulwama, a 22 year old civilian who was martyred in a direct hit fire by the Indian occupation forces, the Hurriyat leader expressed his anguish on thrusting undeclared war against the civilian population.

Terming the occupation forces as blood-thirsty for killing the innocent youth without any provocation, the Hurriyat leader said that the innocent people killed for demanding their right to self-determination can’t be justified in anyway. It is a grave violation of human rights, said Geelani.

Hurriyat chairman alleged that during the cordon and search operations in dozens of villages of South Kashmir, people were forced to stay for the whole night at the roads, streets and fields. Living under the shadow of a war like situation has created panic and an agonized atmosphere in almost all the villages of South Kashmir, said Geelani.

Elaborating the volatile situation particularly faced by the people of Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam, the Hurriyat leader said people get thrashed, beaten, humiliated without any cause, at the hands of occupation forces who have unleashed a reign of terror in the nook and corner of the South Kashmir.

Reiterating his fervent appeal to the freedom loving people especially the youth to observe a complete election boycott in the upcoming so-called Panchayat and Muncipal election, the Hurriyat leader termed the boycott of elections as the only and the last option to safeguard the movement for right to self-determination. Election boycott is also a democratic right of any individual person, said Geelani.

Elaborating the gravity of the prevailing volatile situation of the state, Geelani said the United Nations Human Rights Commission report with regard to human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir served as an eye-opener for India and put her at a defensive.

The only double edged dagger which India used all along, at international fora is the so-called participation of the people in the sham elections, narrated Geelani. Asserting on a complete election boycott Geelani urged the freedom loving people, as a matter of a democratic right, to observe a complete election boycott and create a popular atmosphere for right to self-determination so that nobody is ready to be a candidate.

Hurriyat chairman while expressing his extreme anguish on the brazen action of misbehavior displayed by the Srinagar Central Jail authorities against a senior leader Haji Ab. Gani Bhat, 65 years to force him naked in open, Geelani said it is a pity on the Jail authorities for their inhuman attitude towards the prisoners of conscience.
