Srinagar, May 21 (KNO) : The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Tuesday paid rich tributes to former prime minister of India Rajiv Gandhi and also remembered Mirwaiz Moulana Mohd Farooq, Abdul Gani Lone on their death anniversary. Congress held a special meeting to remember its pioneering leader on his 28th death anniversary and paid floral tributes to departed leader. The meeting was presided over by J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A.Mir, who paid floral tributes to Rajiv Gandhi. “Rajiv Gandhi shall always be remembered for the services he has rendered to people irrespective of their caste or religion," Mir said, add-in that it was he who introduced Computer Education to the country thus bringing the Nation at par with other developing countries in the world. "He was the architect of Panchayat Raj System, who introduced Panchayat System in the country aiming to ensure development of the people at grass roots level, which proved a milestone in the over development of the poor and downtrodden section living in the country. It was his dream to bring the development at the door steps of common and poor people," G.A. Mir said, In a statement issues to KNO. Congress also paid glowing tributes to Late. Mirwaiz Moulana Mohd Farooq and late. Abdul Gani Lone, who were martyred on same day, hailing their selfless services and sacrifices. Among who addressed the meeting included Former PCC President Peerzada Mohd. Syed, Haji Ab Rashid Dar, Gulam Nabi Monga, Mohd Amina Bhat, Farooq Andrabi, Surinder Singh Channi, Gulam Nbi Mir Lasjan, Abdul Gani Khan, Mohd Sultan Mundoo, Shameema Raina, Amir Rasool.(KNO)
