Two patients with symptoms received while as two discharged, says Nodal officer SKIMS

 

Srinagar, Mar 21 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said that 3611 travelers and persons are under surveillance in the Union Territory while as samples of 213 persons have been collected so far.

Nodal Officer coronavirus fir Kashmir division Dr S M Qadri told wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 3426 domestic and 288 international travelers (mostly students of Kashmir) were screened today at Srinagar Airport. He said that number of vehicles screened today at Lower Munda is 1831 and number of travelers screened today at Lower Munda is 2870, adding that there are total 38 patients with symptoms of coronavirus admitted in different hospital of Kashmir at present. Among them 25 are SKIMS, 2 in GMC, 1 in ITBP hospital Srinagar and 10 in chest disease hospital Drogjan Srinagar, he said. He further added that so far samples of 69 people from Kashmir were sent for tests, out of 69, 68 are negative and one is positive while as reports of none of the samples are awaited from Kashmir.

Nodal Officer for Coronavirius at SKIMS Dr G H Yatoo told—KNO that two more patients with symptoms of virus were received by the Institute, however, two were discharged. He said that two persons whose samples were taken and sent for tests before few days and later report came negative were discharged after they showed recovery, adding that they have been asked to remain in home quarantine besides other precautionary measures. Head of Department CD Hospital Srinagar Dr Naveed Nazir Shah said that all the samples that were taken here and sent for reports have been tested all negative.

As per the daily information bulletin, 3611 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 2557 persons have been kept under home quarantine. According to the bulletin on novel coronovirius, 50 persons have been kept under hospital quarantine while as 584 persons are under home surveillance. 420 persons have complete the period of surveillance besides that so far 213 number of samples have been collected for test of covid-19. Out of 213, 205 samples have been tested negative while as four have been tested positive besides that reports of four samples are awaited –(KNO)
