COVID-19: 59 Travelers among 482 fresh cases, J&K, tally mounts to 26,413 | KNO

Srinagar, Aug 12 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday reported 482 fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic including 59 travellers, taking the total number of positive cases to 26,413 in the Union Territory. With 482 new cases, the tally of positive cases in J&K has reached to 26,413 including 20,461 from Kashmir and 5,952 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 482 new cases, 376 belong to Kashmir division while as 106 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 20,461 including 13,430 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 5,952 including 4,093 recoveries and 37 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,392 including 5,570 from Kashmir division and 1,822 from Jammu division. With 544 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 18,523 which is 70.12 percent of the total cases. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 6,435 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 5,952. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 88 from Srinagar, 26 from Baramulla, 52 from Pulwama, 17 from Kulgam, 01 from Shopian, 53 from Anantnag, 29 from Budgam, 42 from Kupwara, 29 from Bandipora and 39 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 106 from Jammu division include 42 from Jammu, 14 from Kuthua, 04 from Rajouri, 05 from Ramban, 02 from Udhampur, 04 from Samba, 07 from Doda, 16 from Poonch, 07 from Reasi and 05 from Kishtiwar," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 6,435 positive cases including 160 deaths and 4,067 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,257 including 85 deaths and 1,664 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1,949 including 1,276 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Pulwama,1,659 including 1,438 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,537 including 24 deaths and 1,401 recoveries are from Shopian, 1,665 including 35 deaths and 1,277 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,641 including 1,133 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Budgam, 1,348 including 1,084 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,197 including 662 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Bandipora and 773 including 428 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 1,727 including 958 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Jammu district, 771 including 534 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 616 including 571 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 626 including 528 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 633 including 447 recoveries and two deaths are from Udhampur, 533 including 342 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 324 including 288 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 305 including 180 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 242 including 95 recoveries are from Reasi and 175 including 150 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 402,509 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 42,494 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,392 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 303,399 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,726 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 750,847 samples are available. Out of 750,847 the number of samples tested negative stands at 724,434 while as 26,413 have been tested positive, among them 7,392 are active and 18,523 persons have recovered—(KNO)
