COVID-19: IT lawyer among two patients die in JK, toll 23 | KNO

Srinagar,  May 25 (KNO): Two more deaths due to COVID-19 were reported in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the overall death toll in Union Territory to 23 on Monday Officials while conforming the fresh deaths due to Coronavirus said that one each patients from Jammu and Kashmir divisions who died a few days back were tested positive for Novel Coronavirus today. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO),  that an Income Tax lawyer from Jammu, who died on Sunday morning in a hospital in winter capital, has been tested positive for Coronavirus. A resident of Trikuta Nagar area of Jammu, the lawyer was undergoing treatment for some other ailments in ASCOMS Batra hospital of Jammu where he breathed his last on Sunday morning. "After his death, sample for Coronavirus were taken, the report of which was declared  positive on Sunday evening," official sources within health department said. They added that administration has followed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) following his death and his active contacts have been kept under close monitoring. Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent SMHS,  Dr. Nazir Choudhary while talking to KNO confirmed one more death at the hospital,  saying that a woman patient from South Kashmir's Kulgam district, 65, who died a few days back was tested positive today. He said that the patient was suffering from pneumonia and was admitted in the hospital on May 22 (Friday) The fresh deaths in Jammu and Kashmir has taken the total death toll across the Union Territory up to 23—(KNO)
