Srinagar, Apr 07 (KNO): The lockdown and restrictions in Jammu and Kashmir continued on Tuesday in wake of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic, which claimed three lives so far in the valley and infected over 120 people across the Union Territory. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), lockdown continued for the 14th straight day across India including Jammu and Kashmir with people across the Union Territory preferred to stay indoors amid panic and scare over the deadly virus. Officials said that the restrictions remained in place for the 21st day with authorities deploying police and paramilitary troopers on roads to act against those who violate the government’s prohibitory orders. Many of the roads continued to wear deserted look throughout the day, witnesses said. Moreover, several persons were booked by Jammu and Kashmir police after they were found violating the government orders today. Officials said that four shopkeepers were booked by Police Station Safa Kadal for violating government orders of 144 CrPc and a FIR vide number 41/2020 under section 188, 269 IPC, 56 Disaster Management Act was registered against them. Authorities in Poonch town also sealed four shops for violation of lockdown order. Officials said that during patrolling in the area, four shops were found open and being in violation of government orders by administration. "All the four shops were later sealed by Executive Magistrate alongwith police teams,” officials said, adding that cognizance of the matter has also been taken in local police station Meanwhile, two separate cases were registered against the representatives of two brick kilns in Nowshera area after they were found violating the government orders. Owners of a carpenter shop have also been booked in Thanamandi area. In an official handout, police in Rajouri said that Ram Khalan, son of Bala Ram of Uttar Pradesh and working as representative (Munshi) of Heer Brick Kilin in Chowki village of Nowshera have been booked in a case under FIR number 61/20 under section 188 IPC in Nowshera Police Station. Similarly, a case in FIR number 62/20 under sections 188 IPC have been registered against Ramesh Chander son of Isher Dass resident of Rajal working as representative (Munshi) of Ganesh Brick Kilin Nowshera. Police said that during inspection, both the brick kilns were found working and laborers were also engaged for work in both the establishments. They said that further investigation into the matter is going on whereas matter shall also be taken up against the competent authority for action as per law in terms of issuance and suspension of license. Meanwhile, a team of Thanamandi police station was on routine patrolling on Thanamandi Rajouri road when at Soura bridge, a carpenter shop was found open and both its owners Mohammad Zaman, son of Basharat Hussain and Mohammad Altaf, son of Mir Hussain of Khablan Thanamandi were present in the shop while four to five person were also standing in the shop. Taking note, police have registered a case under FIR 65/2020 under sections 188, 269 IPC and 3 Epidemic Disease Act against both the owners –(KNO)
