Rajouri, April 29 (KNO) : Family members of an employee of Public Health Engineering (PHE), who died in Rajouri GMC associated hospital in early morning hours of Monday, have levelled serious allegations against health department, terming healthcare services in Rajouri hospital as 'Poor'. 50 year old Abdul Qayoom, son of Ghulam Ahmed, a resident of Lah village of Thanamandi Tehsil of Rajouri district, was reportedly admitted in GMC associated hospital Rajouri in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday between 12 to 01 AM under MRD No 1754 and was admitted in emergency ward. According to KNO correspondent, attendants and his family members said that patient was provided first aid by staff and a female medical officer on duty in emergency ward after which his tests were conducted. "During tests, first degree atrioventricular block was reported in ECG test which clearly established that pain in abdomen and numbness in lower limbs is due to heart problem." they said.  Family members however alleged that only the single medical officer in emergency ward was on duty with no other doctor present there to look after the patients and the specialised heart related treatment was not made available for their patient despite after their repeated requests. "Patient died at around 05:30 AM in the morning and it happened due to lack of specialised services to treat heart related issues if patient which were diagnosed in ECG test." they further said, terming the healthcare services in Rajouri hospital as poor.  District Magistrate Rajouri MA Asad said that he has asked hospital authorities and concerned Medical Superintendent to submit a report into the matter.(KNO)
