Gunfight rages in Hajin, third in north Kashmir in a day | KNO

Hajin, March 21 (KNO) : Gunfight erupted between militants and government forces in Mir Mohalla of Hajin in Bandipora district on Thursday afternoon. It is the third gunfight between the two sides in north Kashmir after Sopore and Baramulla. According to KNO correspondent joint team of forces had cordoned off the Mir Mohalla in Hajin to flush out militants. As the forces approached the area hiding militants opened fire leading to gunfight. Earlier a gunfight broke out in Warpora area of Sopore in which two forces personnel have been injured including a Army man and a Police officer. "There was a lull between the two sides for a while," officials said. In another gunfight in Kalantara area of Baramulla firing between militants and government forces is going on. "On Wednesday evening brief exchange of gunfire erupted between the two sides after which militants managed to escape," officials said. On thursday gunfight erupted but officials are tight lipped over the identity of the militants that are they from the same escaped group.(KNO)
