Srinagar, Apr 05 (KNO): Gusty winds coupled with rainfall triggered damage in parts of Kashmir while as a residential house was damaged in a village in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday. According to wire-service—Kashmir News observer-(KNO), windstorm followed by heavy rains damaged roofs of dozens of houses in parts of Kashmir. Locals said that gusty winds partially damaged roof of a residential building in Chatta Bugh, Budgam area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district. A villager from Haran village of Budgam district said: “Dozens of trees were uprooted while the rooftops of some residential houses also suffered damages due to the winds while as power lines also fell down in the village.” Similar reports of damage to rooftops and trees were also received from other parts of valley. Witnesses said that that due to high intensity wind, many trees fell and power lines also fell down, triggering power cut. Official from Power department told KNO that, "we are checking where the power wires have fallen. We will fix them as soon as possible and the power will be restored soon"—(KNO)
