Kupwara, April 13 (KNO) : A woman from Mohri Kalaroose area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday delivered a baby on the way to hospital after she was denied treatment and ambulance and treatment by Hospital authorities at Kalaroose. However, the alleged apathetic attitude of the authorities has led to the death of newly born baby. Father of the newborn baby told KNO that her wife had grown labour pain following which he took her to Kalroose hospital. “Upon reaching the hospital, a doctor who treated her asked me to take her to Kupwara hospital saying ‘we don't have any facility available here to carry medical tests’,” he said. He said that unfortunately he was denied the ambulance service as well, following which they (hospital authorities) they told him to hire a private cab and reach Kupwara. Interestingly, the grieved Kalaroose resident said he was denied the Ambulance even as the ambulance was there. “Due to sheer negligence of authorities there, my wife delivered baby on the way to Kupwara hospital; therefore, we returned back to Kalaroose hospital and asked nurse there for necessary medical help, which they earlier denied,” he said, adding that had doctors treated upon her, they would have saved his child. Rebuffing the claims, Doctor who treated upon the patient said that, “I was in the ward; I examined her, I referred her to Kupwara for specialized treatment.” “We suggested the attendants to take her to Kupwara hospital. Even we offered an ambulance but he didn't pay heed and left the hospital. After an hour, he returned here with a dead baby,” doctor said.(KNO)
