Kashmir Haat, an evening destination in Ramadhan | KNO

Srinagar, May 28 (KNO) : Come evening and the 15-day Ramadhan night market located at the Kashmir Haat, which kick-started on May 20 turns into a hub for people to relish different cuisines and enjoy cultural activities such as art and music. With more than a dozen food stalls present at the market, cuisines of different varieties including Wazwan has been made available to attract people in large numbers at this market which was restarted after it initially did not receive desired response. Among the stalls that have been set-up at the market includes that of food processing units. The stall has been set-up with an ethnic Kashmiri touch which includes presence of traditional varieties said a stall manager. “We are offering more than 28 varieties in the menu that includes traditional Kashmiri delicacies. There is also a provision for people of takeaway food for Sehri etc. The ambiance presents a perfect environment for families to break their fast together,” he told KNO. Among various mouth-watering delicacies present at the stalls includes chicken kebabs, lahbi kebabs, and Chinese cuisine. People with a liking for Mughlai food can visit the stalls that have been set-up at the night market. Chinese cuisines and different varieties of sweets is also attracting food lovers in large numbers. People visiting the stalls said they were satisfied with the quality and presentation of food. “I liked the food and the overall ambiance here. This bazaar is a perfect place for a family get together and for friends to break their fast. The kids zone and handicraft stalls are also must visit places,” said Shazia, a visitor to the market. While Handicrafts Department has set-up a stall selling shawls and other handicrafts, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) is planning to hold natia-qalam programmes at this special night market, said Mehmood Shah, director Industries and Commerce which is one of the organisers.(KNO)
