Mirwaiz reaches home after three-day long questioning at NIA’s Delhi office | KNO

Srinagar, April 11 (KNO) : Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Thursday returned to Srinagar after facing three-day long questioning at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) headquarters in New Delhi. Mirwaiz was quizzed by NIA sleuths over alleged 'militancy funding case'. According to KNO correspondent, Mirwaiz landed at Srinagar Airport on Thursday evening and drove straight away to his Nigeen Hazratbal residence. Mirwaiz had earlier refused to go to New Delhi citing security reasons and hostile atmosphere in Delhi. NIA in its third summon had assured that his security concerns will be taken care of. Mirwaiz had left for Delhi on Monday. Senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leaders accompanied him that include Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat, Bilal Lone, Abbas Ansari's son Masroor Abbas Ansari went to NIA headquarters. Scores of people were waiting for at Mirwaiz’s Nigeen residence to receive him amid pro-Islam slogans.(KNO)
