MLA Bandipora Usman Majid encourages extracurricular actvities | KNO

Former Minister & MLA Bandipora Usman Majid emphasized the need for encouraging extra-curricular activities in the State and nurturing the talent of youth of our state. Majid was Speaking on the occasion, of T20 cricket cup final organized by the District cricket forum Bandipora at S.K Stadium where he was chief guest. Usman praised the organizing body for conducting such type of event which will help the cricketers to further improve their talent. These events also help in promoting friendly relationship among the people of different cultures and traditions. He hoped that District Cricket Forum Bandipora will continue such type of efforts to encourage the sports talent in the area. Usman Majid stressed that the youth of Kashmir is enough talented and at par with the rest of country. Kashmir has a rich talent of sports among its youth and they need to be supported by the government to enhance their skills to make a career in sports, he said. He further said youth is our future, adding that it is our responsibility to involve them in development and prosperity by way of channelizing their talent for nation building. Quoting Parvez Rasool, Mla Bandipora said that whenever youth of the State get chance, they prove their worth, adding that possibilities needs to be explored to provide them a platform to nourish their intelligentsia for the betterment of society. He assured the youth that he will uphold their aspirations at every forum. On the occassion Mla Bandipora Usman honoured the winner and runner-up cricket teams. He gave prize and trophies to both the teams. He also donated cricket kits to winner and runner-up teams. As many as 64 teams participated in this cricket tournament. The Final match was played between Bandipora Cricket Club Reds and S.k Cricket Club and the finals was won by Bandipora Cricket Club Reds. Later on, Usman Majid also donated Cricket pitch Roller and Pitch Mat for S.K Stadium Bandipora.
