Srinagar, July 11 (KNO): Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) president Muhammad Yaseen Khan Saturday said that if government takes any decision to re-impose the lockdown in the wake of rise in Covid-19 cases and deaths due to the pandemic, traders will support the move. “There is no suggestion from me as of now. The only thing is that if government decides to re-impose lockdown as suggested by some health experts, we will abide by the government’s decision,” Khan told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) He said that life comes first then business. “We need to save lives first. If we would remain alive, only then business will take place. So let’s see what decision government would take,” he said. He said one of the experts Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan had advocated that lockdown should be re-imposed for at least two weeks to contain the spread of virus. “If that will happen, we will support the government’s decision,” Khan said. Interestingly, since the unlock-2, J&K has witnessed a sudden rise in the Covid-19 positive cases as well as deaths due to the pandemic triggering a fresh fear among the people. On the other hand, many experts have stated that people were not taking any precautions to prevent the spread of the virus as even face masks are not being used by the people let alone maintaining social distancing.   In J&K, the number of Covid-19 positive cases is getting closer to 10,000 while as over 160 deaths have already taken place in the UT of which 15 people have died in Jammu and rest in Kashmir. Yesterday, in an interview to KNO, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan had said that the virus had changed its behaviour and now people irrespective of age are falling prey to the deadly virus, which is an alarming situation—(KNO)
