To ensure timely deliverance of revenue related matters, Minister for Revenue, Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Abdul Rehman Veeri today directed all Deputy Commissioners of the State to ensure patwaris are stationed at their halqas.

The Minister issued the instructions while speaking at a high level review meeting of Revenue Department here. The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner Revenue Lokesh Jha, Commissioner Secretary Revenue Muhammad Ashraf Mir, JKPCC MD Daleep Thusoo and other senior officers of Revenue Department.

Speaking during the meeting, the Minister said that serving people is the top priority of the present dispensation. To ensure people do not face any inconvenience for getting their revenue related issued resolved, the Minister directed the concerned to ensure continuous presence of patwaris in their respective halqas.

He impressed upon the officers to monitor the work of their subordinates by holding regular review meetings with them.

 The Minister also asked for augmentation of the department’s infrastructure so that public, instead of running to different offices, can get their revenue related issues redressed under one roof.

Mr. Veeri was also apprised with the construction status of various revenue offices including Awantipura Tehsil office, Tehsil office Sunoor Nubra Leh, Tehsil office Arnas, Tehsil Office Reasi, Goal Ramban Tehsil complex, Revenue Complex Bemina, Revenue Complex Ramban, Compund walling of Revenue Training Institute Jammu, Tehsil Office Mahanpur.

He also sought detailed report of the ongoing construction works of SDM office Bijbhehra, Patwara Khana Dalama Handwara, Revenue Complex R.S Pura, Construction of Niabat office Rajpora, Tehsil Office Mattan and others.

The Minister impressed on the officers to formulate Detailed Project Report (DPR) of all proposed revenue establishments at an earliest and pace up the work.

Mr. Veeri also stressed on enhancing the capacity of its employees by providing them various refreshers courses in revenue related matters, besides, up scaling of revenue training institutes to train the revenue officers on modern lines.

To equip the revenue offices with latest gadgets, the Minister also directed the officers to procure necessary equipments required for speedy disposal of revenue related matters.
