Six youth arrested during nocturnal raid in Sopore | KNO

Sopore, December 03 (KNO) : Atleast six youth were arrested by police during a nocturnal raid in parts of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district in the intervening night of Sunday-Monday.The raids were conducted in parts of Sopore town days after the killing of a local militant, Mehraj-ud-din, who was killed along with a top LeT command Naveed Jatt in an encounter at Chattergam village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on last Wednesday. Sopore town remained shut for three straight days amid massive clashes in different areas against the death of local militant.Reports reaching KNO that forces raided several houses in Nowpora, Arampora and other areas of town at around 11 pm. Amid massive shelling, six youth were arrested during the raid. Meanwhile, a senior police official told KNO that the youth were arrested over their alleged involvement in stone pelting incidents.(KNO)
