Police says alert sentry fired after suspicious movement

Srinagar, March 02 (KNO) : Suspected militants on Saturday evening attacked an army camp of 44 RR in Dachoo Nagbal area of Shopian district. Reports said that militant attacked 44 RR camp with an UBGL followed by firing which was also retaliated by forces. As per initial reports there was no injury from either sides. Locals told KNO said that they heard heavy firing for about 10 minutes in the area. An official while confirming the attack said that whole area has been cordoned off and search operation has been in the area to nab the attackers. When contacted, SSP Shopian sandeep Choudary told KNO he said that alert sentry at Dachoo camp of 44 RR noticed suspicious movement and fired shots in air and denied any attack. (KNO) File Photo use
