CPI (M) demands probe into mysterious death of Kulgam labourer

Srinagar, April 12 (KNO): Strongly condemning the killing of Owais Ahmad Mir, a class 7 student of Mandigam Handwara in security force action, CPI (M) leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami Friday termed the incident as “highly unfortunate” and heinous which should be condemned by one and all. “Such incidents are result of disproportionate force being used against the protesters and there is an immediate need to put an end to the civilian killings,” Tarigami said in a statement issued to KNO. He demanded a judicial probe into the incident so that culprits are identified and booked under law. He also expressed sympathies with the bereaved family. Meanwhile, Mohammad Afzal Parry, District Secretary, CPI (M) Kulgam has expressed serious concern over the death of a labourer Nazir Ahmad Khan son-in-law of Chada Khatana of Rajouri at present Bongam Kulgam, whose dead body was found hanging on a willow tree in Kulgam on Thursday. He demanded a thorough probe and investigation into the incident to ascertain the causes which lead to the mysterious death of the poor labourer. He expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.(KNO)
