Top Commander of LeT Abu Maaz killed in Sopore gunfight : Police | KNO

Sopore, October 27 (KNO) : Police on Saturday claimed to have identified both militants who were killed in an encounter in Pazalpora area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday. Police official said that Top Commander of LeT Abu Maaz and his close associate Ali Bhai Zubair were killed in Yesterday’s encounter. Police sources told KNO that It is a major success for the security forces as Abu Maaz was wanted for his alleged involvement in several killings of civilian , including SPOs, in the past few years in northern region of Kashmir. Maaz was the top commander of LeT in North Kashmir and featured among the top ten most wanted militants. He was one of the longest surviving militants and carried reward money of Rs 8 lakh on his head. He was also involved in the recent civilian killings of Meat shop owner Tariq Ahmad Bhat who was abducted first from his shop at Younisa village of Handwara then killed.(KNO)
